“You can relax in the dentist’s chair while receiving outstanding care.”
What Is Sedation Dentistry?
Too many people dread the dentist’s office due to past traumatic experiences. Sedation Dentistry involves the use of medications to create a calm state, ensuring our patients relax while receiving the care they need. We strive to provide comfortable and stress-free dental experiences to foster positive associations with future dental care.

What Are Your Sedation Dentistry Options?
At My Sherman Dentist, we offer IV sedation to help patients with anxiety or dental phobia relax during treatment. Dr. Davis will administer the sedative medication through an IV straight into your bloodstream, creating a deep state of calm and relaxation. You may fall asleep during treatment but will stay conscious, unlike general anesthesia. IV sedation has amnesic properties, meaning you won’t remember much, if any, of your treatment.
Dr. Davis is certified in IV sedation, having completed a rigorous 12-month course as part of an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program rather than a standard, shorter 4-week course. His training took place at a VA hospital in Temple, Texas, where he gained extensive experience administering IV sedation, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for his patients.
Aside from IV sedation, we are happy to offer nitrous oxide sedation, also known as laughing gas, for patients requiring a milder form of sedation. Dr. Davis will recommend the form of sedation ideal for your unique needs and the complexity of the treatments required to restore your smile.
